【摘要】:Mostasphaltshinglesthathavedemonstratedwindresistancebythistesthavealsoperformedwellinuse.Naturalwindconditionsdifferwithrespecttointensity,duration,andturbulence;theseconditionsarebeyondthemeansofthistesttosimulate.Theresultsofthistestdonotdirectlycorrelatetowindspeedsexperiencedinservice,andnoaccommodationismadeinthistestmethodforbuildingheight,buildingexposurecategory,orbuildingimportancefactor.Manyfactorsinfluencethewindresistanceofshinglesinthefield;forexample,temperature,time,roofslope,contaminationbydirtanddebris,andfastenersthataremisalignedorunder-driven.Itisbeyondthescopeofthistestmethodtoaddressalloftheseinfluences.Thistestmethodisdesignedtoevaluatethewindresistanceofasphaltshinglesasdescribedinthescopewhenrepresentativesamplesareappliedtotestpanelsinaccordancewiththemanufacturerx2019;sinstructionsandconditionedasspecifiedbeforetesting.1.1Thistestmethodcoverstheprocedureforevaluatingthewindresistanceofasphaltshinglesthatresultsfromtheshinglex2019;srigidity(withorwithoutcontributionfromsealant)ormechanicalinterlocking(withorwithoutcontributionfromsealant)oranycombinationthereof.Theshinglesareappliedtoatestpanelinaccordancewiththemanufacturerx2019;sinstructionsandtestedata2:12(17%)slope,oratthelowestslopepermittedbythoseinstructions.1.2ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesaremathematicalconversionstoinch-poundunitsthatareprovidedforinformationonlyandarenotconsideredstandard.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
