【摘要】:Whenevaluatingtheparticlesizeinformation,iftheproceduresofthedataprocessingarenotavailable,theuserofthedatamustmakeassumptionsconcerningthereporteddataintheeventofanalyticalinconsistencies.Inorderfordifferentdatasetstobecompareditiscrucialthatthepartiesreporttheanalyticaltechniquesandmethodsorproceduresforevaluating,calculating,compilingorotherwiseprocessingthedatatobereported.Particlesizecharacterizationinformationcanbereportedinthreelevelsofdetailinordertosatisfyuser’needs.3.2.1Level1applieswhenonlybasicinformationaboutthematerialisrequired,andshallbeprovidedwitheachshipment.Thislevelrepresentstheminimuminformationthatshallbereported.Level1informationmaybesufficientinsuchcasesasidentifyingacertaingradeofamaterialorwhendetailedknowledgeofanalyticalmethodologyisnotneeded.3.2.2Level2presumestheneedforknowledgeofmethodologyontheuser’partandallowstheusertomakeamoreinformedjudgmentabouttheinformationprovidedinLevel1.3.2.3Level3providesdetailedwrittenprocedurestoallowduplicationofthemeasurement.3.2.4InformationprovidedthroughLevels2and3willallowuserstoperformcomparativematerialevaluationsbetweenseveralsuppliers,setspecificationsordefineapurchaseagreement,performinter-laboratorystudiesandmostimportantlyresolvedisputesbetweensupplierandusers.Reportedparticlesizemeasurementisafunctionofboththeactualparticledimensionandshapefactoraswellastheparticularphysicalorchemicalpropertiesoftheparticlebeingmeasured.Cautionisrequiredwhencomparingdatafrominstrumentsoperatingondifferentphysicalorchemicalparametersorwithdifferentparticlesizemeasurementranges.Sampleacquisition,handlingandpreparationcanalsoaffectthereportedparticlesizeresults.1.1Thispracticecoversreportingparticlesizemeasurementdata.1.2Thispracticeappliestoparticlesizemeasurementmethods,devices,detaillevels,anddataformatsfordrypowders,andwetsuspensionsofsolids,gels,oremulsiondroplets.Thispracticedoesnotpertaintoliquidparticles.Note18212;Forinformationonreportingliquidparticlemeasurementdata,refertoPracticeE799.1.3Thispracticedoesnotconcernparticleconcentrationinformation.1.4ThispracticeusesSI(SystmeInternational)unitsasstandard.StateallnumericalvaluesintermsofSIunitsunlessspecificinstrumentationsoftwarereportsparticlesizeinformation,includingpercentiles,indices,anddistributionsastabulationsandgraphsusingalternateunits.Inthiscase,presentbothreportedandequivalentSIunitsinthefinalwrittenreport.RefertoPracticeE380forproperusageofSIunits.1.5Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
