【摘要】:ThisEuropeanStandardspecifiestherequirementsforventingdevicesusedtoprotectenclosuresagainstthemajoreffectsofinternalexplosionsarisingfromtherapidburningofsuspendeddust,vapourorgascontainedwithin.Itincludestherequirementsforthedesign,inspection,testing,marking,documentationandpackaging.ThisEuropeanStandardspecifiesexplosionventingdeviceswhichareputonthemarketasautonomousprotectivesystems.Explosionventingdevicesaresafetydevicescomprisedofapressuresensitivemembranefixedtoandformingpartofthestructurethatitprotects,designedtointerveneintheeventofanexplosionatapredeterminedlowpressure,toimmediatelyopenaventareasufficienttoensurethatthemaximumpressureattainedbytheexplosionwithintheenclosuredoesnotexceeditsdesignedresistancetopressure.TheapplicationandspecificationofexplosionventingdevicesisoutlinedfordustexplosionprotectioninEN14491andforgasexplosionprotectioninprEN14994.TheuseofventingdevicesaccordingtothisEuropeanStandardonpipelinesandonapplicationsotherthandescribedinEN14491orprEN14994needstobecarefullyevaluatedandwhereappropriatetheirsuitabilityneedstobeconfirmedbytests.Flamelessexplosionventingdevicesavoidthebreakthroughofflamesintothesurroundings.Theyareusedtoallowexplosionventinginsituationswherethehazardsofflamesresultingfromtheventingactionarenotacceptable.Flamelessexplosionventingdevicesaretreatedinaseparatestandard.ThisEuropeanStandarddoesnotcoverdetailsfortheavoidanceofignitionsourcesfromdetectiondevicesorotherpartsoftheventingdevices.
